What a night! On Thursday 19th September, UN1TY competed in the Guernsey Venture Challenge alongside seven other tech start-ups for the chance to win funding to support and kick-start their respective projects.
Running for the third year in 2024 following its launch in 2022, Guernsey Venture Challenge is a tech accelerator programme run by the Digital Greenhouse in partnership with Blenheim Chalcot. The programme aims to support tech entrepreneurship and accelerate businesses.
Eight businesses took part: UN1TY, MAP Health, Kloakify, Factforge Labs, The Quarry, Raglan Education Limited, Trainerfy Limited, and my Demeter. This year, the challenge offered £70,000 of grants to support local startup businesses, comprising of £40,000 for First Prize, £20,000 for Second Prize and £10,000 for Third Prize. The pitches were judged by Xenia Levina - Head of Emerging Venture Opportunities Team at Blenheim Chalcot, Marc Cohen - Sole Partner at unbundled vc, and Paul Wilkes - Co-Founder at Osney Capital.
Following excellent pitches by all businesses involved, and a nerve wracking thirty minutes waiting for the judges to deliberate, UN1TY were delighted to be announced as the winners of the top prize! We were up against some serious competition - it’s really inspiring to see how many interesting and innovative ideas are being generated on island, so a big congratulations to our fellow competitors, and of course, a big thank you to the judges. Now time to get our heads down (post celebration!) and continue the hard work.
